The Humorous Side of Weddings-- is that an Oxymoron?
About a year ago, a bridal shower was in progress, and two policemen came to the front door of the house, responding to a noise complaint. The first cop stayed in the car, while the second one went up to knock at the door.
When several members of the party answered the door, they grabbed the cop and dragged him inside and proceeded to grab and undo various parts of his clothing, despite the fact that he kept protesting that he was a real cop!
The issue was resolved just in the knick of time when his partner got out of the car and went in, curious as to what was taking so long. He found his partner on the floor with several women on top of him, and by this time he was in his underwear! The second cop managed, with some difficulty, to convince the guests that his partner was in fact not the professional stripper that had been ordered, but a real cop. While there was some embarrassment all around, I wonder just how the two of them managed to radio the results of their visit in, and how they explained it on their report!
The following two stores come from The Wedding Organist, at www.theweddingorganist.cjb.net #1 Mistake Needless to say during the course of the prelude (tune prior to the procession) I observed a couple already at the front of the congregation. Looking back for the bride I noticed..THERE WASN'T ONE !!..she was already at the front... I BLEW THE PROCESSION!! Talk about embarrassed !!...Anyways.. MORAL OF THE STORY..DO NOT KEEP THE WEDDING ORGANIST IN THE CLOSET !! Just a little ditty about what can happen if you are told, "Play anything appropriate. . .just use your best judgment." I was asked to play a selection of music "Post Wedding Ceremony" and so I thought to play the theme from the movie "Titanic" .."Our Heart Must Go On"....anyways...I was starting into the tune when I was abruptly asked to stop. I asked what the problem was and it seemed there was an element of superstition relating to the story the tune represented and was a "jinx" to the wedding....So I immediately started into a different selection....I now approach those words "Use your best Judgement" with a little more trepidation than before ! Glen says that he has other funny stories, and I'm trying to get him to email me with them so I can post them here.
This has nothing to do with weddings, but it's well worth reading, anyway.
About 25 years ago, a couple in the Midwest had a leaking drain pipe and called a plumber. When the plumber arrived the next morning, the lady of the house was out on an errand, but her husband greeted the plumber, showed him the problem, then left for work. The plumber proceeded to get out his tools and climb under the sink to repair the problem.
The lady of the house returned from her errand to see two legs sticking out from underneath her sink. Since the pants he was wearing were similar to the ones her husband wore, she assumed that her husband was taking a look at the problem.
In a playful mood, she started unzipping his pants. The plumber, feeling someone unzipping his pants, suddenly raised his head, struck it on the drainpipe, and knocked himself out. Hearing the noise, the woman looked under the sink and discovered that the man she was unzipping was a stranger. She called the paramedics for the poor unconscious man.
When the paramedics arrived, they loaded him on a gurney to take him to the hospital, and as they were preparing to load him into the ambulance, asked the woman what happened. When she told them, they laughed so hard they dropped the gurney and broke the man's arm! True story!
Moral: Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed.
